Just A Few Changes

Why the Changes?

First and foremost, Auntie and I wanted to drop our old ISP, Westhost, in favor of a new, hopefully more reliable one. Westhost, although they were fairly inexpensive, had a rather troubling habit of impregnanting the pooch whenever any sort of “standard maintenance” occurred. Second, I wanted to add a new domain name, http://www.w3bgrl.co.uk. The domain name is a reflection, as I said to Auntie, of the fact that the UK is now my home. Third, and most importantly and probably controversial, I have become increasingly aware that this blog presents a few … issues.

Issues?

Yes issues. There comes a point in most transition blogs when the author moves on, stops posting, moves on from transition, and the blog goes quiet. After all, we can’t transition for all of our lives. I am not quite done with transition as yet, but I need Another Place to post that isn’t trans-related, someplace where I can move on.

But What about … ?

As Amy stated recently, I never wanted w3bgrl.com to just be a ts site. At some point, though, I have to admit that, as Caitlin once said, w3bgrl.com is a transition site. The reason that I went for FFS was that I didn’t want to deal with the fact that I am ts whenever I walk down the street. Now, this blog must, to an extent, must suffer from the same fate. I understand that the ts community, such as it is, lacks positive role models, lacks out men and women who also put a positive, whole face on being transexual. We are not, after all, just this particular condition. In a contrary force, I value my privacy. Ultimately, to be honest, I am being selfish.

Another Place?

I’ve created another domain name that will be permanently disconnected from w3bgrl. If you’d like to know what it is, just send me some email.

So Is W3bgrl Going Away?

No, it and w3bgrl.co.uk aren’t going anywhere. I have changed my blogging engine and it will take me a while to migrate all of my old posts, but I am going to keep the domains. Additionally, I’ll keep posting historically relevant and ts-related material here. W3bgrl won’t be as full as it once was.

Why WordPress?

Cause it’s cewl, of course, and doesn’t suck. You can check out the features at the URL above. Migrating the old Geeklog entries is going to prove a bit difficult, as there is no import function for entries and valuable comments. But I am working on it.

Hey! Where Did My Account Go?

Come on. I just changed my blog engine. Cut me slack.
